We have selected the Weinheimer Spanish bloodline for our commercial herd. These are one of the larger framed spanish bloodlines. I was surprised how thick the bucks were once they arrived. We currently are keeping 22 purebred does and one buck. A small portion of the doelings will be crossed with the boers, but the majority will be kept to produce more purbred animals.
Spanish goats on average tend to have higher parasite resistance, are less susceptible to hoof rot, and they tend to be the best mothers!
